Parents

Don't worry, parents. We haven't forgotten about you.

Your son is on the verge of making a lifetime commitment, and it's understandable that you would want to be a part of and appreciate that commitment.

Just like your son, we encourage you to visit our national recruitment site. Our national recruitment website has a full section for you, including answers to those questions you have to ask as responsible parents.

To give you a taste of what you can find on the website, here is a letter to parents written by Kappa Alpha executive director, Larry Weise:

Dear Parents:

As parents, you may have a variety of questions about the fraternity experience. We hope to provide you with useful information about the Kappa Alpha Order, one of the oldest and largest national fraternities.

Kappa Alpha's philosophy of gentlemanly conduct and its unending quest for excellence are directly attributed to the example set by Robert E. Lee, our spiritual founder. As president of the college where KA was founded, Lee personified the traits of gentility and chivalry. KA strives to translate these timeless values into the mainstream of colleges and universities across the nation.

Kappa Alpha has existed since 1865 and is a proven support network for young men as they make the transition from high school or a community college to a four-year institution.

The Order seeks out the positive character of its members and provides many opportunities for enrichment and development.

KA can better your son's college experience by providing scholastic support, hands-on experience in leadership, interaction with faculty and administrators, exposure to potential careers through educational programs and alumni, an opportunity for individual development through community service projects, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Belonging to a fraternal organization is like nothing your son will ever experience. Living together, growing together, and learning about each other in a healthy environment is what Kappa Alpha Order is all about.

Sincerely,
Larry S. Wiese
